​History

The Foothill Learning Alliance was formed in 2013 by a small group of Azusa residents. Their passion for literacy, coupled with their concern for adults who lack literacy, brought them together to focus attention on the issue of adult literacy. The Canyon City Foundation provided funding and guidance to create the organization and support its development as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
The Foothill Learning Alliance is still in the early stages of its development. Its history is just now being created. If you would like to be a part of creating its history, click here.

Mission and Vision​

The Foothill Learning Alliance exists to provide opportunities for the development of basic skills for adults to succeed in today’s world. Through advocacy, fundraising, and community awareness, the mission of the Foothill Learning Alliance is to ensure that literacy is an attainable right in the community.
